How to Grow Vegetables in Limited Space

Using pallet collars that can no longer be used for freight in your garden is a great way to recycle!
Pallet collars is normally used as wrapping for goods but can be used in other ways to! From the beginning it was a way of recycling waste, and that is never a bad thing! Now when the popularity of pallet collars has increased they can also be purchased brand new in many colors and sizes.

Whit glass or plastic on top of the pallet collar it can be used as a small greenhouse or cold frame that is fantastic if you live in a place with limited growing period.
Even a hot bench can be achieved by adding some manure under the pallet collar. The way to go about it is to dig a pit before the frost sets in the autumn, and then in early spring the manure is added in the pit and about 50 cm outside the pallet collar. When the pallet collar is placed on top of this add the desired soil and on top of it all; the glass or plastic. Leave the pallet collar a few weeks, until the temperature in the hot bench is sufficient for growing seeds of vegetables or flowers.
A quite easy way of creating a garden for vegetables is to place the pallet collars on macadam which totally reduces weeds to grow in that area.
Now you can spend your time doing something more fun than weeding!

- weeds outside have a hard time getting in to the growing area
- moore convenient height
- easy to cover with a canvas
- easy to cover with glass or plastic roof
- hot and damp stays in the growing area longer
- excellent if the ground is to damp and wet
- limited cost if you use recycled pallet collars
- easy to make individual with minor means
- easy to move if you change your mind
